The Boardwalk sits on 5-acres of pristine waterfront on the St. Joseph River about 6 miles inland from Lake Michigan. Completely private and secluded, The Boardwalk is surrounded by 200+ acres of woods, yet is only minutes away from dozens of hotels, restaurants, and the vibrant downtown neighborhoods of St. Joseph and Benton Harbor. We offer indoor (climate controlled) and outdoor facilities to accommodate up to 250 guests, and all tables, chairs, linens, private beach, onsite bride and groom ready-rooms, and every last detail of furniture, lounges, ambient lighting, stages, and microphones + ambient audio equipment you need to host your perfect day.
The Boardwalk is a full-service venue and provides full staffing to host your event.
Venue Coordinator - Works with you from day one to organize your event. Several scheduled meetings to review event plans and coordinate with your vendors. Your Venue Coordinator will be your dedicated onsite point of contact for everything you need on the day of your wedding.
Parking Attendants - Keep guest traffic moving and coordinate pickup and drop-off.
Event Host - Stationed at the entrance Marquee, our Host welcomes your guests to the venue and facilitates guest books / gift cards / programs and hotel shuttles.
Event Staff -
Setup all of your tables, chairs, linens, lounge furniture, fire pits, beach blankets, lighting accents, etc.. before you arrive in the morning
Set and reset each seating and tabled service segment throughout the day
perform continuous cleaning, clearing of service items, emptying trash, and general maintenance throughout the day
Facilitate A/V Equipment, speakers and microphones, and related onsite tech for you and your DJ/Band/Musicians/Vendors
clean everything up and put everything away at the end of the night
The booking process is simple - a $2k deposit holds your date and we begin planning. You will be introduced to your venue coordinator, and they walk you through the process of creating your event plan. This includes your ceremony layout, reception table layouts, indoor and outdoor lounge furniture, cocktail hour lawn games, beach bonfires, lighting accents, tree chandeliers, A/V equipment, and coordination of your 3rd party catering, bar services, photographers, decorators, and any other vendors you choose. We have close relationships with many recommended vendors and we are happy to introduce you to any services you need to fit any budget, but we otherwise do not restrict which vendors you bring.
At The Boardwalk, it’s all about customizing our sweeping riverfront site to host your wedding exactly how you want it. The Boardwalk can be styled to create a rustic, wooded outdoor experience, or can be transformed into a sleek and bright modern celebration on the banks of the river. If you’re looking for a farmhouse table or a style of chair, we can help you get it. Our team is dedicated to building the wedding of your dreams.
The Boardwalk is outside of city limits and there are no noise ordinances or curfews. A standard rental is 9am-midnight, or you can choose to extend late into the night. We also offer multi-day and weekend packages to host your rehearsal dinner, morning brunch, or host an afternoon bbq, fishing expedition, or kayaking excursion as part of your wedding weekend.
