Raised in two very different parts of the country—Matt in the Midwest and Kathryn in California—they have blended the warmth, hospitality, and charm of their backgrounds to shape the unique experience that defines The Boardwalk today.

What began as a dream quickly became the adventure of a lifetime. Together, they have transformed The Boardwalk into a destination where families gather, milestones are celebrated, and love stories come to life. Their favorite part of owning the venue is witnessing couples begin their next chapter surrounded by the people they love most.

When they're not welcoming guests to The Boardwalk, Matt and Kathryn are busy raising their three daughters and creating memories of their own.

Venue Coordinator - Weddings

Madison has a passion for creating seamless, joy-filled wedding days and loves being part of every step of the planning journey. From the moment you book until the last dance of the evening, she works closely with couples to ensure every detail is thoughtfully planned and expertly executed. With timelines, logistics, and vendor coordination carefully organized on her clipboard, Madison allows her couples to relax and fully enjoy their celebration. When she’s not bringing wedding visions to life, you can find her spending time with her Labrador, exploring St. Joseph with her husband, or enjoying the beauty of Southwest Michigan.

Lea Germann

Venue Coordinator - Public Events

Lea brings energy, heart, and dedication to everything she does. She loves creating memorable experiences for the community and assisting couples as they celebrate one of life's most meaningful milestones. Whether she's helping coordinate a wedding day or planning a public event, Lea is always ready to jump in and make things happen. As a proud mom of five boys, she thrives in the excitement of a busy schedule and wouldn't have it any other way. When she's not working, you'll likely find her cheering from the sidelines, spending time with family, or embracing the adventure that comes with raising her energetic crew.
